Radio host Kyle Sandilands has released a rosé spritzer for summer

In a move that no one saw coming, KIIS FM radio host Kyle Sandilands has released a sparkling pink sangria.

The new spritzed-up sangria is said to be an Aussie twist on the Spanish classic. The bottled beverage is made by winemakers David Kynaston and Sam Bowman using Pinot Gris grapes from the Murray-Darling wine region. After fermentation, the wine is infused with fresh fruits such as citrus, apples and berries, then spritzed with carbonation.

“I’m not much of a drinker, but I really do love this sangria,” Sandilands said. “Typically, we have it when we have barbecues with friends. It’s a great refreshing drink in the afternoon and it can easily be matched with any food.”

To serve, simply pour over ice and garnish with fresh fruits such as pomegranate, berries, apple, orange and rose petals.

“We’ve got the perfect climate right here, not only to drink sangria but to create a drop that puts Australian sangria on the map,” he added.  “Nueva Sangria is the end result of daring to ask the question ‘why can’t we make our sangria right here on Australian soil?'”

Nueva Sangria will be available to purchase from select BWS stores. For more details, head to nuevasangria.com.
